Bravado Gaming announced yesterday that it will be bringing the Finesse CSGO team into its fold. Finesse, an all-female team competing in the South African esports circuit, recently parted ways with Energy eSports – a bitter rival to Bravado.
“Bravado Gaming are bringing the extremely successful Finesse female Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) team into our family and they will be proudly representing us for CS:GO in 2018!” Bravado said in a statement.
As for the line-up, the organisation detailed that it will consist of Jana “SaltyMonkey” Du Toit, Kayhla “KayC” Calder, Rachel “rayChil1za” Van Dyk, Christin “2SSB” Meistre and Carmen “Cjay” Mcleod.
“The goal of the new team is to help them reach their dream of being part of the VS Gaming Masters and also inspiring younger players, male or female in South Africa and around the world to just play and enjoy themselves because anything can happen with hard work and dedication,” Bravado said in a statement.
Finesse will be the backbone of Bravado’s Academy team, a move the organisation said is to promote female players, grow the industry and to teach others.
“We also believe that they have a very high skill ceiling and we know that they are some of the most dedicated players around. With that being said, the girls will also be helping a few individuals and potential players in order to assist in starting their competitive careers.”
Andreas Hadjipaschali, CEO of Bravado Gaming, explained that the formation of an Academy team has always been something that Bravado wanted to do – especially with its male team currently playing in the USA.
“We decided that the best way to go ahead with the program was to implement a female squad with a coach, a management team and most importantly to try and bring in younger talent in the near future (which we’ve already been working on),” Hadjipaschali said in a statement.
