Riding on the coattails of PUBG for a while, Epic Games’ Fortnite has stepped out of the shadows over the last couple of weeks – and thanks to streamer Ninja and rapper Drake’s involvement.
Using the moment recently gained, Epic Games announced that it will host a celebrity Fortnite tournament at this year’s E3.
In a blog post the developer details that it will feature 50 celebrities and 50 professional gamer to make up the 100-person roster.
“Join us this E3 for the ultimate Fortnite Party Royale, pairing some of the world’s greatest athletes and entertainers with top Fortnite Battle Royale players from across the globe,” Epic Games said.
Calling it the Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am, “One team will rise to the top for ultimate bragging rights. Who will claim Victory Royale? We’ll soon begin building the teams, so stay tuned for more information on the event.”
It also revealed that that details on the first season of competitive play will announced in the coming weeks.
